There are an array of advantages and disadvantages to ebooks. Some of the advantages include economical use of space. A digital reader can hold thousands in a tablet smaller than a laptop computer. One never needs to spend the time and money traveling to a brick and mortar bookstore since they have the convenience of browsing for what they would like to read online. The disadvantages of cheap digital ebooks is they are more prone to damage if dropped than a traditional book. The affordability of the ebook reader is non-existent for most people in the world.
Different toxic materials are required to produce non-biodegradable ebook readers. The eco-friendly disposal of ebook reader batteries is still unresolved. Paper products are recyclable so there is also a positive aspect to traditional books.
Some traditional books are considered collectible. This is not the case with ebooks. An ebook will never have the same value where the technology does not permit special artistically crafted bookbinding features, limited edition print books, and glossy images.
